April is National Poetry Month

Since its founding in 1980, The Poetry Center at Passaic County Community College has become one of the country’s leading venues for poetry readings, competitions, workshops, and introductions of new talents to the local and national poetry scene. The Poetry Center was founded by lifelong Paterson resident Maria Mazziotti-Gillan, an award-winning poet and artist who has published numerous volumes of poetry, many of which were inspired by her life in the City of Paterson.  The Poetry Center has featured some of the genre’s most significant poets , including the famed name of the Beat Generation, Allen Ginsberg.
