About Laptop Upcycle @ PCCC
Laptop Upcycle @ PCCC is a partnership between Laptop Upcycle, a DBA entity of the nonprofit organization HackNCraftNJ, and Passaic County Community College. The primary goals of this partnership are to establish a site location on the College’s Paterson campus where donated laptops are refurbished then distributed to PCCC students in need and to co-develop and deliver education and training content that will be used in both parties’ operations. Laptop Upcycle @ PCCC will strive to provide the necessary technology PCCC students need to succeed academically in order to reduce equity and achievement gaps. If you have any questions or need further information, please email [email protected].
Why Donate?
We appreciate your interest in donating a laptop to Laptop Upcycle @ PCCC for many reasons, including the following:
- Our students will benefit greatly! Some will learn how to erase the contents of hard drives/solid state drives (SSDs) and refurbish donated laptops, while others will learn how to work on a community-based project in partnership with a non-profit. The efforts of all students involved with Laptop Upcycle @ PCCC will contribute to reducing equity gaps existing within our student body since the refurbished laptops will be distributed free-of-charge to PCCC students in need.
- The student who receives your refurbished device will have a better opportunity for academic success!
- E-waste will be kept out of landfills, which means your donation will help protect our environment!
- Your donation is tax deductible for the fair market value of your laptop, and you will reduce clutter in your living or work environment.
