MIXED MEDIA by FABIAN MIRA
ART EXHIBITION & RECEPTION AT THE PCCC BROADWAY GALLERY IN PATERSON
In celebration of Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month, the Broadway Gallery at Passaic County Community College will exhibit Mixed Media by Fabian Mira from September 16 – November 7, 2024.
A reception will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. The Viva Vallenato Cumbia Band will perform in the gallery from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Originally from Colombia, Fabian Mira was born into a large family, who shares his passion for art. In 1993, he began formally studying at the Escuela Popular De Arte in Medellin, Colombia and, in 1995, studied textiles and interior design at the Escuela de Diseno Tecnologico. Several years later, he relocated to the United States. There he worked as a model at the Art Students League-New York and continued to pursue his education, until having to drop out to provide for himself and his family.
A keen observer, Fabian can be inspired by a look or a feeling, something found in nature or interactions with others. He explores a variety of subjects in his work from women and spirituality to sadness and romance. Among his biggest influences in the field of Linear Art are Alphonse Mucha and Gustav Klimt.
Fabian uses different perspectives, elements and materials to create artwork that expresses his beliefs and enriches the human spirit. He looks to reinvent himself every day in his work.

The PCCC Broadway Gallery is wheelchair accessible; large print materials and FM assistive listening devices available on request. This exhibit is funded, in part, by Passaic County Community College and a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. The Broadway Gallery is open Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
