2025 FESTIVAL AT THE FALLS – A CELEBRATION OF WORLD CULTURES
THE PATERSON GREAT FALLS NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK
[Paterson, New Jersey]– Festival at the Falls – A Celebration of World Cultures will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025. The Folklife Center of Northern New Jersey at Passaic County Community College is sponsoring this free event, which will take place from 1 – 4 p.m. at Overlook Park at the Paterson Great Falls Historical Park, 72 McBride Ave. Ext. The rain date is June 1st.
Enjoy a variety of live music and dance at the amphitheater, including: Zydeco Revelators, which have been described as “a mix of Jambalaya with stompin’ cowboy zydeco classics and a dash of classic rock and jam.” Andiamo!, an Italian-American musical-dance troupe with an eclectic mix of drumming, bagpipes, and accordion; and Pepe Santano’s legendary Andean folk band, Inkhay, featuring dancers from Peruincafolk. At demo stations throughout Overlook Park, you can participate in crafts, such as Chinese brush painting, American spinning and weaving, Palestinian Tatreez (embroidery), and Bangladeshi henna. For kids, there is face painting Andean-style.
The Folklife Center of Northern New Jersey celebrates the region’s diversity by documenting and building awareness and appreciation of vital cultural traditions. The Center presents an array of traditional and folk arts performances, workshops, demos and exhibits for youth, at home residents, and general audiences. Parking is available at the Overlook Park lot (72 McBride Ave. ext.) and the Glenroe lot (free overflow parking next to Overlook Park).
