Join us Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the PCCC Broadway Gallery for an Artist Reception to meet Jalina Monclus, creator of Chosen, an art exhibition for Women’s History Month, now showing at the Gallery. Reception Hours are 11 am – 12:30 pm. Gallery Hours on Saturday are 9:00 am -5:00 pm. Admission to both is free. The Broadway Gallery is located in downtown Paterson at the Main Campus of Passaic County Community College Entrance is at Broadway and Memorial Drive
The exhibit features a collection of large, black & white panels titled Activists Changing the World and depicts four diverse women celebrated for their activism: Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan, a women’s rights advocate and recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize; X Gonzalez, a survivor of the 2018 shooting at the Majory Stoneman Douglas High School in Floria and gun control reform advocate; Greta Thunberg of Sweden, an internationally recognized environmental activist and advocate for Asperger’s Syndrome; and Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in the history of the sport and 2022 recipient of the Medal of Freedom from President Joe Biden for advocacy on behalf of mental health awareness.
About the Artist – Jalina Monclus was born and raised in New York City and attended the School of Visual Arts. She works as a graphic designer and her artwork focuses on collaborative art and curating shows.
