ASL Interpreting Services
All eligible students must request interpreting services in advance. This will give us adequate time to locate a qualified interpreter. If you know you will be missing a class, you must contact the OAS staff/and your interpreter directly a minimum of 24 hours PRIOR TO CLASS TIME to adequately notify us that you will not attend class.
A. Requests
NEW STUDENTS
- Schedule an appointment with the OAS staff
- Provide appropriate documentation and complete the Accommodations Process with a disabilities specialist
- Submit a semester service request form AND a copy of a completed registration form by the appropriate deadline: August 1st for Fall – December 1st for Spring – April 1st for Summer
RETURNING STUDENTS
- Update documentation, when applicable, and complete the Accommodations Process with a disabilities specialist
- Submit a semester service request form AND a copy of a completed registration form by the appropriate deadline:

B. Interpreter Cancellations
Absence:
If you are planning to be absent, please contact OAS immediately. 24 hours notification is required.
Class Cancellation:
If you do not need interpreting services due to class cancellation, you are responsible to immediately notify first the interpreter and then OAS, preferably at least 24 hours before the class.
