The Fine and Performing Arts and Communication division at PCCC offers exciting degree and certificate programs in Studio Arts, Music, and Music Technology.

Music
The Music Department at PCCC offers students two exciting degree programs, state-of-the art facilities, faculty with distinguished professional experience, and regular performing opportunities.
The Associate in Arts Degree (AA) in Liberal Arts/ Music provides students with a solid liberal arts foundation along with a concentration in Musical Studies. This degree program is recommended for those students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
The Associate in Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Music Technology prepares students for careers in the competitive, diverse, and fast-growing fields of music production, sound design, and more. The AAS degree is recommended for students who wish to enter a career after graduation.
Instruction is provided on a variety of musical instruments including piano, guitar, and selected brass. Students will learn and gain experience in all-new practice studios, a music production studio, and a blackbox theater with outstanding acoustics.
Spring Recital
Students have the opportunity to participate in the annual Music Department spring recital at Trumpet’s Jazz Club & Restaurant in Montclair, New Jersey.
Studio Arts
We offer a Studio Arts degree for students who plan to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree at a four-year college.
This program provides students with a solid foundation in the visual arts through courses that develop a broad range of knowledge, skills, and competencies essential for advanced study. including drawing, design, color theory, art history, and portfolio presentation,
Students learn from professors who are working artists as well as experienced educators.
Students also benefit from a variety of enrichment activities including field trips to major museums, student art contests, and exhibition opportunities.
Students can exhibit their work in the Juried Student Art Exhibit.
Theater
Each year, the Theater Program at PCCC invites a distinguished playwright to spend a week in residence on campus. The guest visits our acting classes, offering insights and feedback, and also performs readings from his or her works. This annual residency provides theater students with the stimulation and excitement of meeting diverse dramatists in their own classrooms.
