Presidential Search

Passaic County Community College has partnered with the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Searches, the executive search division of ACCT, to lead the search process for PCCC’s next president.  ACCT has conducted over 500 community college searches and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this process. 

G. Duncan Harris, Ed.D. will serve as our ACCT Search Consultant and will assist the Board of Trustees, the search committee and college community throughout this important process. Public Open Forums

ACCT Search Consultants facilitate a series of in-person open Public Forums (Administrators, Staff, Faculty, Students, Community members invited to attend) to solicit feedback to inform the development of the draft Presidential Profile. Forums held at 9AM, Noon, and 3PM in College Theater.

June 16, 2026

Presidential Search Committee Meeting #1

The search committee receives, reviews, and edits the draft Presidential Profile. The Board of Trustees will then review, discuss, edit, and finalize the Profile.

Week of June 22, 2026

Position is Open and Posted

Presidential Profile is posted on the College and ACCT websites. ACCT and Search Consultants conduct targeted local, state-wide, and national one-to-one recruitment of highly competitive and diverse candidates. Advertisements placed.

September 8, 2026

Target Date for Receipt of Applications

Position will remain open until filled.

September 23, 2026

Presidential Search Committee Meeting #2

The search committee discusses and selects confidential semifinalist candidates.

October 5 – 6, 2026

Presidential Search Committee Meeting #3

The search committee meets for confidential semifinalist interviews.

Finalists visit the College for tours, participate in open public forums, meet with direct reports, and interview with the Board of Trustees.

On behalf of the Passaic County Community College Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce that we have begun the search to identify the next President of Passaic County Community College. We are fully committed to conducting an equitable, inclusive, and transparent national search that will attract a strong and diverse pool of candidates from throughout New Jersey and the nation.

The Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) has been selected to assist us with the President search process. ACCT’s assistance will include providing support with the development of the President Profile, recruiting highly competitive candidates, and working extensively with the College and the Board of Trustees. ACCT has conducted over 750 community college searches and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our process. ACCT’s mission is to strengthen community college governance through education and advocacy. G. Duncan Harris, Ed.D., will serve as our ACCT Search Consultant and will assist the entire college community throughout this important process.

President Profile Development: Public Forums & Survey
An important step in the President search process is the development of a President Profile. On Monday, June 15, 2026, we will host three (3) Public Forums to listen to your input, which will assist with the development of the President Profile. The entire College community is invited and encouraged to participate in a discussion about the qualities, characteristics, and qualifications we are seeking in the next President of Passaic County Community College, and the opportunities and challenges facing the College in the years to come. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the President search process. The discussions will be facilitated by Dr. G. Duncan Harris, ACCT Search Consultant.

We invite everyone to attend the one-hour Public Forums on Monday, June 15:
9:00 AM – College Theater
Noon – College Theater
3:00 PM – College Theater


Please share the forum information with those who have an interest in Passaic County Community College and wish to attend. No RSVP is needed.

In addition to the Public Forum, we have developed a brief electronic survey that we hope you will complete if you are unable to attend one of the forums. Final Candidates
All final candidates will participate in open forums at Passaic County Community College, and the finalists will interview with the Board of Trustees. We anticipate the open forums taking place in October 2026 and we will provide the dates, times, and location once they are confirmed. All employees, students, and community members will be invited to attend the open forums and complete feedback forums which will be reviewed as part of the deliberation process.

Recruitment
Our recruitment efforts will involve an open and thorough national search, seeking qualified candidates from all regions of the country. ACCT specializes in one-to-one recruitment of community college leaders. Additionally, to assist with this process, advertisements will be placed in the Chronicle of Higher Education and other major publications and websites.

Presidential Search Webpage
The Passaic County Community College website will include information on all aspects of the search. The President search webpage will be developed in the coming weeks and will include key information including the timeline, President Profile, and information on how to apply.

Presidential Profile Development
We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended the public forums on June 15 and also thank everyone who took the time to complete the online survey. Your input was valuable in creating the draft Presidential Profile. This draft was reviewed and edited by Presidential Search Committee on June 16, and later the draft Presidential Profile was reviewed and approved by the Board of Trustees.

As previously shared, The Board of Trustees anticipates all finalists visiting the College and interviewing with the Board in October 2026. Each finalist will participate in public forums and all who attend the public forums will have the opportunity to share their feedback. This feedback will go directly to the Board of Trustees for their review and consideration. Details about the exact dates, times, and location will be forthcoming, once finalized.
