Tickets to the Ceremony for Your GuestsFour (4)) invitations with four tickets to the Commencement Ceremony will be issued when you pick up your cap and gown (degree students only) at the PCCC Bookstore starting May 17, 2018. Career Certificate and Certificate of Achievement recipients will receive four (4) tickets when they pick up their regalia in Room A230. Only those adults and children holding tickets for graduation will be admitted into the gymnasium. Caps and Gowns:Graduate caps and gowns will be distributed by the PCCC Bookstore. Certificate holders will pick up their regalia in Room A230. You will receive an e-mail to your student email account when you are eligible to pick them up. Please be sure to bring your PCCC ID to the bookstore and A230 along with that email. Career CertificateA red stole and grey gown for Career Certificate recipients will be distributed by the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs in A230. You will receive an e-mail to your student email account when you are eligible to pick it up. Please be sure to bring your PCCC ID with you along with that email. Certificate of Achievement StolesA stole for Certificate of Achievement recipients will be distributed by the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs in A230. You will receive an e-mail to your student email account when you are eligible to pick it up. Please be sure to bring your PCCC ID with you along with that email. Diplomas and Certificates:At the Commencement Ceremony you will receive the diploma case. Diplomas and Certificates will be mailed in late June/early July to the address on your graduation application. If your address changes, please be sure to update your address with the Registrar’s office. If you need proof of graduation for transfer or employment, request a PCCC Official transcript: http://www.pccc.edu/registration-info/transcript-request Video Cameras/PhotographyVideo cameras are prohibited in the gymnasium during the ceremony. A professional photographer has been engaged to provide services at graduation. Each graduate will be photographed receiving his/her diploma.The photographer will contact you directly about purchases. Live Video BroadcastIn the event your family and friends cannot be with you at the graduation ceremony, a LIVE broadcast will take place. Log-on to www.pccc.edu and an icon will be there for your family to click on and watch the events unfold as they happen. Security MeasuresDue to increased security measures, no backpacks, book bags, balloons or video cameras will be permitted on campus for the Commencement Ceremony. Security checks at all entrances will be engaged and you are asked to cooperatefully when you arrive. Your safety is our number one concern. Children at CommencementChildren are welcome at the commencement ceremony; however, they cannot walk with you in the processional. The College does not provide child care for the ceremonies. Commencement ReceptionAll graduates and their guests are invited to a reception following the ceremony in the Cafeteria, Paterson Room,and Gallery of Academic Hall. ALUMNI REPRESENTATIVE TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEESEach year the graduating class elects a student representative to the Board of Trustees. This representative is a non-voting member with a term of one year, effective July 1 of the year in which they graduate. The responsibility of the Board of Trust-ees is to set policies and procedures for Passaic County Community College. In addition to that, the Board also determines the educational curriculum and program of the college in line with its institutional mission; appoints the President and other officers of the college; fix and determines tuition rates and other fees to be paid by students; and grant diplomas, certificates or degrees, to name a few a few of its many duties. |
