PASSAIC COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES
NEW ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE DEGREE PROGRAM OPTION
STARTING FALL 2010
In response to the importance of environmental issues in today’s world and the projected increase in jobs in environmental fields, PCCC introduces the Associate’s in Science (A.S.) Degree in Liberal Arts with an Environmental Science Option. This program is designed primarily for students who plan to continue on to a four-year college or university program to earn a bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related fields.
Students who elect this option will pursue a general education liberal arts curriculum with a concentration in environmental science. Courses in the area of concentration include, Green Energy, and introductions to Environmental Science, Ecology, and Geology. (click here for a sample program of study).
Graduates of this program will be prepared to enter a baccalaureate program at a four-year college or university and should be able to transfer smoothly. Area institutions offering a bachelor’s degree program in environmental science include: William Paterson University, Montclair State University and Ramapo College of New Jersey.
Students who do not plan to continue on to pursue a bachelor's degree may pursue a number of careers in the growing environmental field.
