Enrich the Student Experience

Let’s face it, not all learning goes on in a classroom.

Applied Learning experiences (like internships, micro-internships, community-based projects, service learning or field studies) help students develop important skills that are critical to their future success. Giving students an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world situations helps them develop critical thinking, problem-solving, analyzing, interpreting, and applying information.

You can help!

Local employers can play a key role in helping PCCC and Ramapo College provide relevant real-world experiences for our students to develop workplace skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, decision making, teamwork, and communication.

Internships Matter

Research finds that students who listed an internship on their resume received 14 percent more job offers, were less likely to be unemployed, achieved higher grades, and earned higher wages five years after graduation.

Applied Learning Experience

Orientation and Training (appropriate training and background information)

Monitoring and Continuous Improvement (feedback loop and evaluation)

Assessment and Evaluation (Outcomes and processes should be documented)

Acknowledgement (recognition of learning through reporting and sharing
